Only nine days after announcing his $94.8 million dollar extension with the Chicago Bulls, the 2010-2011 MVP is said to be signing a $250 million dollar contract renewal with Adidas to be their counter for Kobe Bryant in China. It is believed that Rose is second in sneaker sales, trailing behind Kobe and leading LeBron James. Hmm, who knows what will happen in the future, maybe someday Rose will surpass Bryant in sales… Until then, we will have to just wait and see what happens. Having said that, DERRICK ROSE FOR MVP.

Nike Kobe Zoom 6: Pitch Black
“The Nike Zoom Kobe VI has been released in some very eye-opening color schemes and patterns (see “Photo Blue Camo” Nike Zoom Kobe VI). However, Nike has some things in store for those of you who relish subtle schemes. The soon-to-be-released Nike Zoom Kobe VI Black/Dark Grey is seen here in a new photo gallery. The entire upper is composed of a black scaly, snakeskin-like texture and features minimal grey hints in the form of the Swoosh, the heel construction, inner lining and tongue branding. How does this pair rank amongst its predecessors?”
Entertainment of the Week: Kobe Bryant
Every Sunday I will be posting some weekly entertainment for you all to enjoy, and this week’s entertainer is Kobe Bryant. It doesn’t matter if you like basketball, if you’re a fan of the Lakers, or whether you like the Black Mamba or not but it is impossible for you to say that Kobe Bryant is not amazing.
The real question is, do you think Kobe is better than Jordan? Why or why not? Let us know how you feel by leaving a few words in the comment section, because your opinion does count!
Kobe Bryant: Debuts the Chaos Kobe Zoom 6

“There are some extraordinary colorways of the Nike Zoom Kobe VI that we have to rely on other players to wear such as the “Sunset” Nike Zoom Kobe VI, the “Glass Blue” Nike Zoom Kobe VI and the “Rice” Nike Zoom Kobe VI. We know Kobe will not lace these up due to the NBA uniform rules; however, it is always nice for our Kicks On Court to see him rock a very unique colorway of his sixth signature Nike shoe on court. In a loss to the Portland Trail Blazers, Kobe Bryant laced up the highly-anticipated “Chaos” Nike Zoom Kobe VI. This particular shoe actually releases today at select Nike Basketball retailers and will be on available at the Nike Vault in LA tomorrow. DC Comics supervillain The Joker is the main inspiration for this Kobe VI. Its one-of-a-kind colorway includes Chroma (shade of purple), Volt, Black, Dark Grey, and White.”

LeBron James: Presents ‘The LeBrons’
“In a move sure to be less controversial than “the move,” LeBron James is set to star in his own animated series. This Spring, on a dedicated YouTube channel, LeBron, the Miami Heat forward and six-time N.B.A. All-Star, will come to life in “The LeBrons.” The series features the four characters from the commercial “The LeBrons” – the wide-eyed young “Kid LeBron;” the jock “Athlete LeBron;” the smooth and savvy Business LeBron; and the crotchety elder statesman “Wise LeBron.” In an interview describing the series with the New York Times, Lebron said “I’m mostly a kid at heart…but I also have a business side, a cool side, and I love antique stuff and classical music. I guess that’s the old man side of me.” For season one, “The LeBrons” will consist of 10 episodes of five to six minutes each, centering on the world of 16-year-old “Kid LeBron” and his life in Akron, Ohio, using authentic locations from that city, where LeBron was born and raised. The series is produced by LeBron’s own production company, which is headed by Dan Goodman and Bill Masterson, both of whom helped develop Seth MacFarlane’s Cavalcade of Cartoon Comedy. LeBron is a known cartoon far, and has been featured in several MacFarlane videos. The series, which will also be aired on Lebronjames.com, will offer positive messages aimed at young viewers, but it will be interesting to see if LeBron’s real life on-court issues are referenced, and what role his high profile sponsors will play.”
LeBron James: Says He Has A “Better Shoe” Than Kobe Bryant
The highly-anticipated Miami Heat vs Los Angeles Lakers game is less than 24 hours away, and although many stars will be on the Staples Center hardwood, all eyes will be fixed on the Kobe Bryant-LeBron James matchup. Who knew the superstar’s respective signature sneakers would fuel the fire between this mega matchup on tomorrow?
Recently, Miami Heat small forward LeBron James stated that he had ‘a better shoe’ in regards to his Nike LeBron 8 compared to Kobe Bryant’s Nike Zoom Kobe VI.
“Yeah, it’s a better shoe,” James said today after the Heat’s practice at UCLA. “But we’re all one Nike family.”
Obviously, we expect James to favor his shoe over Bryant’s; after all, it is his shoe. However, was there any other reason for his choice?
“Because it is,” James said. “Because it’s LeBron’s shoe. It’s got my name on it. I take pride in my shoes every year, and I’ve always taken pride in having the best shoe. So they’re going to cost a little more if you decide to wear them.”
At this time, no Kobe Bryant comments have surfaced pertaining to this subject matter.
Besides the game, Kobe Bryant will debut his newly-designed Nike Zoom Kobe VI on court, while LeBron James will use the game as a ‘first look’ at the Nike LeBron 8 V2.
Which player’s signature model interests you the most: LeBron James’ Nike LeBron 8 or Kobe Bryant’s Nike Zoom Kobe VI? Let us know in the comment section below!
Personally, I really think that the LeBron 8s are a better shoe than the Kobe 6s, but unfortunately, the LeBron’s are a bit too heavy for my small build which is why I am going to be purchasing the Kobe’s instead.
Having said that, if you are a powerful player such as a Power-Forward, Small-Forward, and even a Center, your best bet would be to roll with the LeBron’s because if you decide to play in the Kobe’s there is a great chance that you will end up with some sort of foot injury because of their extremely light build.
On the other hand, if you play the position of a Point-Guard and/or a Shooting-Guard your best bet would be to purchase the Kobe’s because they are made to accommodate Kobe Bryant’s needs, who is a Shooting-Guard.

Michael Jordan: Through The Years Air Jordan VII
“Having had the taste of victory the season prior, Michael Jordan entered the 1991-92 NBA Season with ‘swag’, an unshakable and indefinable confidence that cast a shadow on the entire league. Winning was everything for Michael, as displayed by his leadership of the Chicago Bulls to a then-franchise record sixty-seven wins and a second trip to the NBA Finals. Jordan began the NBA Finals on a high note, finishing the first half of Game 1 with 35 points and the infamous shoulder-shrug after hitting six three-pointers – an outstanding scoring feat even Jordan himself couldn’t comprehend, as he looked to those in the audience for some sort of explanation. Michael Jordan led the Bulls to an eventual (and inevitable) victory over the Blazers while capturing the NBA Finals MVP, which completed the trifecta of MVP awards of that season. However, according to Jordan himself, winning his second championship wasn’t his favorite moment in the Air Jordan VII. In fact, that moment occurred halfway around the globe.
Months after winning his second title, Michael Jordan embarked upon a journey to the international stage, as he, alongside eleven other NBA superstars, formed the U.S. Olympic Men’s Basketball Team. Prior to the 1992 Olympics, NBA players were not allowed to participate in the Olympics, but in 1992, the ‘Dream Team’ was formed and steamrolled through the competition and dominated each and every contest by wide margins. Michael Jordan, who wore the ‘Olympic’ colorway of the Air Jordan VII, captured his first and only Olympic Gold Medal, and refers to his experience in Barcelona as “one of the best times of my life”.
The Air Jordan VII was designed once again by Tinker Hatfield, who was behind the Air Jordan III-VI, and was inspired by African tribal artwork. The design was also an evolutionary step forward from the Air Jordan VI while adopting some structural ideas from the Nike Huarache based on the cut and construction of the ankle. However subtle the jump from 6 to 7 may be, some major differences should be noted. For one, it did not featured a visible Air unit that was seen on the previous four models, nor did it showcase any sort of Nike logo or branding with the exception of the insoles. The shoe itself was very minimal with branding, as it featured just a small Jumpman on the upper ankle and the bottom sole, an AIR JORDAN label on the tongue, and Jordan’s ’23′ on the heel (’9′ on the Olympic version). As Jordan did with his previous models, he debuted the Air Jordan VII at the NBA All-Star Game, wearing the ‘Bordeaux’ colorway, and then followed that with the ‘Hare’ for the rest of the season, the Black/Red colorway for the 1992 Playoffs, and the ‘Cardinal’ for the first half of the 1992-93 season. Michael also wore the French Blue colorway during his years with the Wizards. After Retro releases in 2002, 2004, and 2006, the Air Jordan VII was released once more in 2010 in ‘Premio’ form as part of the Jordan Brand Bin 23 Collection. Continue reading for a look at Michael Jordan and the Air Jordan VII and stay tuned to Sneaker News for the next installment of Michael Jordan Through The Years.”
